After a Tonsure...
Tonsure, Which is blended in Spiritual Tamils.It is customary for pilgrims to shave their heads as a sacrifice to God.In Tamils, the underlying concept is that hair is a symbolic offering to the gods, representing a real sacrifice of beauty, and in return, are given blessings in proportion to their sacrifice.
In Tamils tradition, A newly born babies should first shave there heads in their own Ancestors/Family Temples.This usally hapens in festivals with all family members together. The baby will be placed in his/her Uncle's Lap. In case in any sutivation if members could not able to join in festival,The child hair will remains uncut.
In this picture, this baby had his first tonsure after his 11 months old. The family joined in Mother Velankkani Shrine Feast. Even after a Tonsure this baby still in panic and holding his mother very tightly.
